This fashion collection, developed by the designer Xénia Lucie Laffely as part of her Master’s degree course, is a men’s fashion line, which was inspired by the work and/or dress style of well-known female artists and personalities and developed on the principle of the collage. The range of references extends from works of art and articles of clothing by Tracy Enim through Simone de Beauvoir to Louise Bourgeois and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Of central importance for the collections are the fabric designs, specially developed by hand and realised with sustainable raw materials in the form of textile prints. These have a powerfully narrative and communicative character, and lend the articles of clothing a quite special stamp. The collection aspires to be read as a statement for the equality of the sexes and as a feminist manifesto. It is an uncompromising fashion line for men who want to wear women’s clothing with pride and self-confidence, combining it in self-assured style with bits and pieces of their own.
