Christophe Guberan

Christophe Guberan is an industrial designer based in Switzerland, trained at ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne after an apprenticeship in architecture.

Connecting industry, academia and research, Christophe’s practice focuses on the creative process as a catalyst for innovation. It led him to rethink the future of production processes and to explore technology and materials, generating new aesthetics and possibilities in the field of product design. As a result, his studio had the opportunity to work on diverse challenges in collaboration with different leading companies such as Alessi, Steelcase, USM, Cartier and Google.

He currently teaches product design at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and ECAL. His work has been presented at various renowned institutions: Patrick Parrish Gallery in New York, Centre Pompidou in Paris, Design Miami, Salone del Mobile Milano and Tokyo Design Week. He received the Hublot Design Prize in 2017 and was granted with a Swiss Design Award in 2016 and 2018. Since 2014, he has fruitfully collaborated with the MIT Self-Assembly Lab and other fellow designers.
