Sonja Haag Walthert

Sonja Haag-Walthert is a grad­uate inte­rior designer FH | vsi.asai and has a wide-ranging know-how in the fields of inte­rior design, archi­tec­ture and object design.

She formed and sharp­ened her atti­tude to inte­rior design in the first 10 years of her profes­sional career, both in prac­tice and theory. Her employ­ment in the archi­tec­tural office of Rolf Mühlethaler in Bern and her subse­quent self-employ­ment have shaped her work in the areas of design, plan­ning and execu­tion. Many years of working at the Insti­tute of Inte­rior Archi­tec­ture at the HSLU, T&A as a senior assis­tant, later as a lecturer and today as an expert in the B+ bach­elor thesis comple­ment her prac­tical project work with sound theo­ret­ical knowl­edge.

In 2015, Sonja Haag-Walthert moved to the Zurich-based archi­tec­ture firm Mint Archi­tec­ture, where she is now Client Director and a member of the Exec­u­tive Board. At the agency, which specialises in commer­cial archi­tec­ture, she is respon­sible for projects that focus on customer bene­fits and expe­ri­ence. She over­sees projects in the Banking & Finances sector as well as comple­men­tary uses in the Gastronomy & Food and Work & Educa­tion markets.

In addi­tion to the current conver­sions in the bank branch network of various clients, she and her team can also realise far-reaching conver­sion projects, such as a complete reno­va­tion including facade replace­ment for the Basler Kanton­al­bank, and a replace­ment building for a regional bank in the Zurich catch­ment area.
