Exhi­bi­tions, events and concerts are held regu­larly on the exhi­bi­tion square. In addi­tion, the latest new building on the site is a promi­nent sight: the so-called City Lounge is an archi­tec­tural high­light and the central element of the hall complex. The covered public space, which is char­ac­ter­ized by the striking hole in the middle, was designed by the Basel archi­tect duo Herzog & de Meuron.
