Founded in 1896 as a saddlery, Wittmann specialised in uphol­stered furni­ture in the 1950s. Since then, the company has continued to produce its high-quality furnish­ings exclu­sively in its own furni­ture work­shop in Etsdorf, Lower Austria. The company has devel­oped into an impor­tant inter­na­tional player and, in addi­tion to clas­sics, also has exciting collab­o­ra­tions with inter­na­tional greats such as Luca Nichetto, Jaime Hayon and Nendo in its range.
