The Zürcherische Seidenin­dus­trie Gesellschaft (ZSIG) is an asso­ci­a­tion of active and former compa­nies of the silk industry in Zurich and aims to rein­tro­duce seri­cul­ture in Switzer­land – from the silk worm to the textile. Founded in 1854, it is one of the oldest busi­ness asso­ci­a­tions in Switzer­land. ZSIG repre­sents the inter­ests of the Swiss silk industry and coor­di­nates its activ­i­ties with Swiss Textiles, the Swiss Textile Feder­a­tion and Euro­pean partner organ­i­sa­tions. Since 2012, ZSIG has been promoting high-quality projects related to the Zurich silk industry as well as the Design Preis Schweiz. Together with Pro Helvetia, ZSIG supports the new Design Preis Schweiz format Design Retreat in 2023 which will take place at the Sutra House in Basel. More infor­ma­tion on the project to come.
