Offline Destination, 7.–8.11.25

Long Valley Island is not a spectacle. The new format of the Design Preis Schweiz is a proposition – showing how design can not only look back, but also move forward as a cultural, social, and economic force. As a tool to rethink resources, shape circular systems, and take responsibility.

Why?

This initiative grew out of conversations, design retreats, and experiences with designers across Switzerland. In recent years, the need for reflection has significantly increased. Existing ways of thinking and working are being questioned – and new forms of togetherness are being sought. Long Valley Island invites you to go offline for a few hours or a whole day – and to reflect on your own role: as a consumer, producer, or designer.

Where?

In the former halls of the Langenthal porcelain factory and the Ruckstuhl carpet manufacturer, a walkable island takes shape – with immersive spaces, talks, food, concerts, and the exhibition of the current award edition.

What?

Friday evening marks the festive opening – with the award ceremony of the Design Preis Schweiz. Saturday is dedicated to shared experiences: encounters, knowledge exchange, immersive rooms, and curated happenings – consciously limited in the number of participants.

Porzi-Areal & Ruckstuhl
