OTTOLINGER
Ottolinger is a Swiss fashion label for women in the high fashion/luxury sector, which was founded in 2015 and works for the international market. Both the founders and designers, Cosima Gadient and Christa Bösch, who run their label from Berlin, design two collections every year (spring/summer and autumn/winter), which they present at Paris Fashion Week. Their fashion is described as cheeky, unconventional, experimental and unmistakable. Ottolinger themselves characterise the label as “a unique mix between couture-like DIY handicraft, deconstruction, sporty basics and traditional male silhouettes with a feminine touch”. Already with the first collections, Ottolinger attracted both national and international attention in the specialist world of fashion and the press associated with it. The success among celebrities (such as Beyoncé) and influencers proves its keen sense of the spirit of the times. The brand is distributed both via its own online shop as well as via well-known retailers worldwide.
Comments of the nominators
Ottolinger stands for a pleasing success story. The label has met with worldwide interest and recognition in particular among a young audience. It is already well established for a start-up – through consulting activities, which have made an important contribution, and more of which are planned. Ottolinger is now pursuing ambitious plans based on a clear strategy for the next few years that nevertheless seem realistic.
