Blackpool Herbst/Winterkollektion 05/06 «Twilight» Damenmode-Kollektion
The light and colours of twilight, along with the paintings of the English Romantic artist William Turner, were the inspiration for this autumn/winter collection from Blackpool. Its dreamy and at the same time faintly morbid character is based on the one hand on the selected range of colours, and on the other on the formal echoes of days of long ago. The deliberately overdrawn silhouettes and slight displacement of the proportions are among the characteristic trademarks of this designer. As a result, her designs have a peculiar and unmistakable aesthetic of their own. The top-quality materials have been carefully processed by a sewing studio, underlining the exclusive character of these garments.

The faultless processing and craftsmanship of these creations, the outstanding tailoring skills and the harmonious choice of materials come together to give an impression of the utmost professionalism, which extends right through to the artistic way in which the collection is displayed. This makes Blackpool a work which need have no inhibitions about showing itself in the international arena. In honouring Irene Münger the jury is conferring a distinction on a designer to whom they wish every success in the fashion market, while fully confident that she will have the success that is her due.
