«LOC+» constitutes an unusual combination of a bicycle lock and bicycle lamp – two accessories on which cyclists depend in an urban setting. The symbiosis makes very good sense: when you are cycling the lock does not just hang around to no purpose, but serves to improve the view and the visibility of the rider. It takes just a few easy manoeuvres to transform «LOC+» from a lock to a lamp and vice versa. This avoids holding up the traffic, making it possible to park in the shortest space of time. In formal terms, «LOC+» has been designed in imitation of the classic U-lock. The lighting units are fitted with battery-powered LED lamps. Created as a diploma project at HGK Zürich.
