Stripes

The common characteristic of the new carpet collection created by Ruckstuhl is the design based on stripes. But the really special feature of the collection lies in the way in which careful piecework has succeeded in combining different carpet qualities and materials, so as to give rise to compositions that are startling in both haptic and optical terms. The use of materials that have never featured in carpet production before has resulted in the most remarkable designs of the collection. For example, the «Legno-Legno», made from oakwood strips, turns out to be a pure wooden carpet which can nonetheless be rolled.
Comments of the nominators
This versatile collection is characterised by radicalism, stringency and striking aesthetic qualities. A convincing combination of craftsmanship, innovative invention and ambitious design ideas.
