This chair is based on the idea of overlaying the wooden frame with the upholstery as if it were a garment. The cloth elements are produced in two-dimensional sections by an industrial high-frequency welding technique. Three-dimensionality only comes about when they are folded over the structure of the chair. Attached to the wooden frame with the help of pressure studs, the upholstery (which is obtainable in various different qualities of colour and material) can easily be changed.
Comments of the nominators
The «wogg42» chair makes a convincing impression above all in view of its basic idea – that of understanding the upholstery of the wooden chair as a kind of «clothing». The unconventional style of the upholstery makes it easy to clean, and if necessary to replace this «wear and tear component».
