Magnetic Curtain

2009_Magnetic_Curtain_

The “Magnetic Curtain” is a completely new kind of development, and can be modelled almost in any way you like. As a result of the facet structure incorporated in the textile material and the small magnetic lozenges to which its special character is due, the curtain can be lifted or pushed to one side and will still retain the shape it has assumed – until you want to smooth it out with a view to reshaping it again. “Magnetic Curtain” forms part of the collection of Droog Design, and is expected to be placed on the market before the end of the year.

Comments of the nominators

“Magnetic Curtain” is a refreshingly new interpretation in the field of spatial textile design. The remarkable mechanism on which it is based supports scenarios of a previously unheard-of generosity and dramatic character.
