Toro is a side table made of Japanese Aji granite, designed for AJI Project. The young company from Mure-cho on Shikoku aims to open new markets with everyday objects while preserving the endangered craft of stoneworking. Aji stone, deeply rooted in Japanese culture and associated with artists like Isamu Noguchi, forms the basis. Toro is part of the “OMORI” collection, which explores the weight of stone. Cylindrical elements are stabilized by their own mass and crafted from leftover pieces – resource-efficient, easy to transport, and executed with the finest craftsmanship.
