Carpet series Overlay
The collective Studio Komplett has developed the eccentric «carpet series Overlay». This is characterized by an intuitive and artisanal design process, by an appealing and colorful look. The textiles are made in Switzerland from New Zealand wool and are representative of the textile designers who independently carry the heritage of the Swiss textile industry into the future.
Comments of the jury
The collaboration between the design collective and the traditional Swiss company shines with bold patterns and bright colours. Thanks to an experimental and collectively led development process, the designers have succeeded in interpreting time-honoured production techniques, such as tufting, in a new freshness. In this way, the designers set an example for eclectic aesthetics as a counterpoint to the common canon of sober Swiss design.
