Monopole
The Cargobike from Zurich-based startup Monopole is reinventing the way people move around the city. It is a compact bicycle with invisibly integrated electric assistance that meets all mobility needs. Monopole convinces with a distinctive design language that defines an independent bicycle typology: A rectangular frame derived from those of large cargo bikes. Minimal weight, compact dimensions and agile steering make the Cargobike the ideal companion in urban areas. Monopole is thus a statement for sophisticated last-mile solutions and a contribution to a modern lifestyle and sustainable cities.
Comments of the jury
With its new type of bicycle, the young company serves valid needs of local transport solutions in urban areas and at the same time propagates sustainable means of transport. In the revision of the classic bicycle and the precise evaluation of the problems in the area of cargo bikes, innovative approaches to solutions were found that are largely conclusive in the overall view. At the same time, the formulation of a novel typology ensures a high recognition value. The jury is looking forward to the further development of the cargo bike – among other things also with regard to the aspects of sustainability, when replacing highly specialised components such as the built-in battery.
