Tages- und Kunstlichtinstallation
The day and artificial light installation in the stairwell of a private house creates a completely new sense of space with mirrored surfaces, a filigree light fixture, and purposefully applied color. The project creates an awareness of how we read, feel, and move through spaces, making a statement for experimental and immersive interior design, a counterpoint to functionally soulless spaces.
Comments of the jury
In the development, a coherently designed solution was found from a difficult initial situation, which satisfies the client thanks to the referencing of art and architecture. With means of illusion, precise execution and bold colouring, Bureau Hindermann manages to open up the staircase in a magical way, transforming a transition zone into an (interior) architectural spectacle. In the project, on the one hand, well-known means were used, and on the other, the design handwriting merges smoothly with relevant references, creating a unique overall scenery.
