Comments of the jury

In close exchange with experts and those affected, «Finally.» develops sensitive products that respond to the suffering of dying people and their relatives and thus enable people who have reached the end of their lives to say goodbye with dignity. The designer and initiator Bitten Stetter starts with concrete everyday situations in order to stimulate a discussion of the phenomenon of dying in society as a whole, which is still not discussed enough due to its stigmatisation. With her label «Finally.» she creates poetic products in accessible materiality and aesthetics and thus draws attention to something that affects us all. The project, built with a lot of heart and soul, empathy and a sense for details, creates an awareness for the dying process and at the same time alleviates the problems that arise in this phase of life in an endearing and authentic way. In this way, the project embodies an inclusive approach that affects society in its entirety and perhaps even can.
