Nespresso Manuelle und automatische Kaffeemaschine
A new conception has been given to the outward design, as well as to the technology, functionality, operation and ergonomic aspects, involving a reduction to extreme simplicity in many individual details. The key to the system is a cap which can be pressed down on the coffee capsule by means of a simple manual operation: this results in the coffee being brewed inside the capsule. When the cap is opened, the used capsule slides automatically into the integrated container. If the overspill tray is pulled out, the container with the used capsules comes out automatically as well. The control buttons are arranged in keeping with the way they are most likely to be used.
Comments of the nominators
A sculptural solution for a functional piece of equipment that has semantic clarity. Every element constitutes a small design product in its own right. All the details taken together yield a consistently balanced and harmonious design.
