Onel 6 experimentelle Objekte
These six works were created by Stefan Meile when studying at the Ecole Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne: 1 bowl made of stainless spring steel, 1 couch made of aeroplane plywood, 1 mat made of felt, 1 milking stool (portable stool) made of polypropylene, 1 sofa of foamed material and 1 shoe tree made of ashwood. The objects were not designed on paper or on the computer, but were created by means of direct experimentation with the materials and processing techniques, like plaiting for instance.
Comments of the nominators
In Onel a subtle design technique finds expression. Derived from the haptic encounter with the material and the manufacturing technique that has been used, the creative impulse is carried over into the created form in a direct and honest manner.
