Torsio Formholzstuhl

This comfortable bentwood chair consists of two tapering bentwood elements, in which clever use is made of the torsion technique of twisting laminated wood. With state-of-the-art technology, it has proved possible to combine twisting and tapering in the same bentwood element. Torsio can be stacked and linked in rows. It would be at home either in a private or in a public setting.
Comments of the nominators
The field of seating design has been thoroughly worked over, and tends to the formulaic, making it difficult to develop an archetypal object in this category. Torsio applies a torsion technique, involving the twisting of laminated wood, to create an original type of chair.
